Talking Story
In Hawaii there is a wonderful custom called ‘Talking Story’. When native Hawai’ians talk story, everyone is sincere. So there is no paranoia and no mistrust. It is understood that what anyone says may be incomplete or incorrect, but it is also understood that it is spoken honestly and sincerely.

Pro and Con
PROfound and/or CONfound
By definition, there are no absolutes in a finite world. . .
That explains, very simply, why mankind was advised not to ‘eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil’ – the indigestion would surely be fatal if not somehow transcended by a form of salvation.
To my mind the American legal system is analogous to the content of the Bible. The scale is different and the same presence of perfection provides an undeniable relationship.
One example in the American legal system is the legal concept of ‘de minimus’ which recognizes that there are facts which fall beneath the threshold of any judicial importance/notice.
De minimus is from the Latin meaning so small as to not be counted.
There are finite concepts which derive from this principle, but are frightfully confusing because of a lack of knowledge of the etymology. A prime example is the ‘white lie’. - Is it moral or not?

THE LAW OF PROBABILITIES
The law of probabilities was conjured by homosapiens (homosaps) after eating the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden.
It enables judgments (yes) based on statistical data about the subject matter.
The law of probabilities assumes the existence of some kind of, as yet undetermined, certainty about the subject matter and then postulates the future by referring to the statistics.
It is a finite ‘law’ for a finite world – and in that context, it works.
